Modern Space Transformation of Ritualization

Ritualization is the “folding-stretching” of space at different times. It is the most direct way for people to express their inner emotions and it makes people appear unique and meaningful at a certain time in a certain space.

At the beginning, the client made only one request to us, hoping his house could be more ritualized, and our transformation of the ritualization is to establish the space order. Referring to the spatial layout of Chinese classical architecture, we set up the space in the order of foyer – corridor – hall - dining/living - bedroom, and repeat the doorway design to make the space more orderly, we even make symmetrical designs locally to strengthen the order. In addition, our handling of light is also very important, because light is particularly important for the spatial description of time.
